Our story

From one Avenue Road shop to a 20,000 ft² factory

Ely Ichelson opened the first Ely's Glass store in 1961 at the corner of Avenue Road and Old Orchard. Soon after, Antonio Turco, a true glassman from Italy, joined him. Together they opened the first factory and grew the business into one of Toronto's go-to glass and mirror shops.

Today Ely's Glass is still 100% family-owned. Our Scarborough factory runs straight and shaped bevellers, polishers and a sandblaster, and our crews stay in touch with the office from the truck so we can turn jobs around fast.

Do you do emergency glass replacement in Toronto?

Yes. We offer 24 hour emergency glass replacement for homes, stores and property managers across the GTA, using our own glass trucks. Call 416-281-2501.

Can you make a frameless shower enclosure to measure?

Yes. We measure, cut, polish and temper the glass for your bathroom and install it ourselves. Visit the Avenue Road showroom to see glass, finishes and hardware.

How thick can a glass table top be?

We cut and polish table tops and shelves from 5 mm up to 19 mm glass, in any shape, at our Scarborough factory.

Where is your showroom?

1801 Avenue Rd, Toronto, ON M5M 3Z3, on the east side between Wilson and Lawrence. Our factory and head office are at 1335 Morningside Ave, Unit 5, Scarborough.

Do you work with property managers and contractors?

Yes. New installs and maintenance in high rises and smaller buildings: window glass, thermal units, patio and balcony doors, screens, fire rated doors, safety glass and solar film.
